3 Amazing Whisky Cocktails for National Scotch Day

Today is National Scotch Day. While most often thought to be something to sip on neat or on the rocks, scotch, just like other types of whisky, can also be a great addition to a number of different cocktails.

Whether you’re just getting into the spirit, or you’re an old fan, here are a few delicious cocktails worth checking out to celebrate the big day:

Shackleton Highball

1.5 oz. Shackleton
4 oz. bottled soda
Fresh lemon zest

Directions: Fill highball glass with cubed ice, stir with barspoon for 10 seconds until
glass starts to frost. Drain out excess water and add Shackleton. Stir for 10 seconds and add more cubed ice if needed. Top with soda and softly stir for 5 secs. Garnish with lemon oils from zest.

La Dame de Coeur

2 oz. Dalmore 12yr scotch
1 oz. Montanaro Rosso vermouth
.75 oz. Cappelletti
4 dashes orange bitters
2 dashes angostura bitters
Rinse Laphroaig 10yr scotch

Directions: Rinse glass with Laphroaig. Mix all remaining ingredients in a glass beaker and stir. Strain. Spritz with orange peel zest and discard. 1 spray of Laphroaig on top.

Barspoon absinthe
.25 oz. Grand Mariner
.25 oz. Amontillado sherry
