Taste of Streep: Where Movies and Food Collide

The Syndicated opened in Brooklyn this year, following the trend of quirky movie theatres that serve food. And its monthly series, “Taste of Streep,”melds the two together perfectly, epitomized in the hilarious Instagram account by the same name where classic images of Meryl Streep are mashed up with savory food.

The series is the brainchild of The Syndicated’s Tim Chung and Actor/Graphic designer Samantha Raye. Raye, who is responsible for the hilarious Instagram account and images, says of the Streep-themed showing, “Syndicated is a great venue, and I was really interested in working together with them because they offer a full food and drink menu while you watch the movie…bringing “taste of streep” to life. We just did our first party last month for The Devil Wears Prada, it was awesome. Everyone in the audience cheered for Meryl Streep when she stepped out of the elevator as Miranda Priestly, recited famous lines, threw in their own commentary…it sounds like it would be annoying, but honestly it was like watching a movie with 50 of your best friends…despite the fact that we’re all strangers.”

Make sure to read up on all things Meryl, as a portion of the evening includes a Streep-Trivia competition, where the winner brings home a Streep-goodie basket!
