Somewhere in a galaxy far, far away there is a culinary showdown between the doughiest of bakery staples. Divided by the war between buttery soft and crunchy, two sides emerged. On one side, there lies the lightly toasted, the keeper of a balanced breakfast that pairs well with some fruit and perhaps a bowl of multigrain cereal. On the other, there is the dark, burned to a crisp enemy who lives on the dangerous side but may still go well with a nice helping of jam. Which side would emerge victorious in the battle of the breads?
Okay, so maybe we don’t know the exact storyline behind the new I Am Bread update “Starch Wars—A New Loaf” but we’re guessing there’s a lot of reasons for various assortments of bread to dislike one another. On the journey to being eaten, one cannot simply become a piece of toast like the game suggests. There are various obstacles to overcome and some serious decisions to consider. That experience can really change a piece of bread, and not always for the better.
In celebration of Star Wars Day, the new “Starch Wars” update is all about spaceship combat. Armed with a spacecraft in the form of a piece of bread, you are tasked with destroying your doughy enemies by shooting them out of the sky. The description from Bossa Studios perfectly summarizes the story of the bread-themed Star Wars tribute:
“Following the destruction of the Petrol Station, the remaining crumbs of the rebellious fleet have been intercepted as they head to the planet of All-dough-naan. A lone freedom fighter with the call sign Bread Leader picks up the distress signal and speeds to their aid. And yep, you guessed it; he’s their only hope.”
In the update, you will fight against the “Dough Baker” and his team of “Rye Fighters” in order to complete your mission to destroy the “Starch Destroyer.” Those who have completed the first chapter to the bread simulator will be able to access the new content.
So go forth and become the toast you were destined to be.
