The plot thickens in the tension-filled new trailer for Kathryn Bigelow’s forthcoming drama Detroit.
The Oscar-winning filmmaker dives into the true events surrounding the riots that shook Detroit in 1967. The newly released trailer gives more insight into the central conflict of the film, in which lead John Boyega plays a security guard being interrogated for a crime he did not commit. Starring alongside Boyega are Anthony Mackie, John Krasinski and Will Poulter in what is shaping up to be a gripping crime thriller.
Also released today from Annapurna Pictures is a short clip with interviews from director Kathryn Bigelow, investigative journalists and several of the real people upon whom characters in the film were based. Bigelow mentions spending time with the people who lived through the incidents as one of the most important aspects of making the film.
