Star Wars: Episode IX Has Wrapped Filming, Director J.J. Abrams Reveals

As of today, Feb. 15, Star Wars: Episode IX has officially wrapped principal photography. Director J.J. Abrams shared the news in a tweet with an image of stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac embracing on set.

Boyega also chimed in with a tweet of his own:

The film is still a long way off though, as it needs to go through reshoots and the long post-production process before it can hit the big screen. No official title has been announced yet, but Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: The Force Awakens both announced their titles on the day they wrapped, so we might find out what to call the finale of the Skywalker Saga very soon indeed.

Ridley, Boyega, and Isaac are set to reprise their roles as Rey, Finn and Poe, respectively, and Adam Driver will return as Kylo Ren. There will also be several new faces in the cast for the final film, including Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Richard E. Grant, Dominic Monaghan and Naomi Ackie.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres Dec. 20, 2019. Brush up on everything we know about the much-anticipated film so far here.
