Get ready for the way you think about the term “widow” to change completely.
For his follow-up to 12 Years a Slave, Academy award-winning director Steve McQueen has teamed up with Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn for the forthcoming female-led heist thriller Widows.
As if that wasn’t enough to have everyone flocking to theaters, the star-studded cast should surely do the trick. Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Daniel Kaluuya and Brian Tyree Henry, among others, star in the visionary director’s fourth feature.
The film stars four women, left widowed by their criminal spouses, who decide to finish what their husbands started in what looks to be a striking take on the genre, sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Widows is due in theaters Nov. 16. Watch the first exhilarating trailer below.
