Late last year, Wolf Alice released their second LP, Visions Of A Life, a follow-up to 2015’s My Love Is Cool. Since the band’s first breakout release, frontwoman and lyricist Ellie Rowsell has abandoned her comfort zone and embraced a bold new method of creating (Paste spoke with her about songwriting in a recent feature, which you can read here). One of the best musical products of the British rockers’ vibrant new aesthetic is “Space & Time,” off Visions Of A Life, and they released a new music video Wednesday to accompany the rowdy track.
The scene opens with a veil-clad Rowsell, who also directed the video, barreling down a dirt path. A fleeing bride who clearly needs to put as much space as possible between herself and her betrothed, she doesn’t slow down even for a second while the camera uses some quick-paced panning to keep up. She rips through meadow, forest, city and countryside (all of which are almost certainly Pacific Northwest-based) until she finally reaches the sea. You can watch the whole thing below.
Wolf Alice just finished up a tour with Queens of the Stone Age, and this Friday, June 1, they’re playing Governors Ball in New York City. You can revisit our review of Visions Of A Life here and a 2014 Wolf Alice performance from the Paste archives further down below.
