Get Hyped for Netflix's Lost in Space Reboot With Its Much-Anticipated First Trailer

Netflix just unveiled the first look at their secretive reboot of the classic Lost in Space television series of the 1960s and we are stoked about it. The trailer brings the slow-motion walk, using the flashy J.J. Abrams lens flare tactic to create a whole new level of hype. House of Cards alum Molly Parker narrates the trailer as we see her and the rest of the Robinson family board their space craft. The new series sticks to the original storyline, according to The Verge, following the Robinson family as they head into space to start a new human colony but accidentally land on a different world. The trailer is interspersed with video footage of a catastrophic Earth, indicating that humanity desperately needs a new planet on which to survive.

Lost in Space marks the newest of reboot shows like Fuller House, Gilmore Girls and Arrested Development that Netflix has acquired in recent years. With Netflix’s recent deals with Ryan Murphy and Shonda Rhimes, it’s no surprise that their budget for original programming is predicted to be around $8 billion in 2018.

Get hyped with the reboot’s trailer below and make sure to note the glorious nod to the original show with the infamous line, “Danger, Will Robinson,” towards the end of the trailer. The show stars Parker as Maureen Robinson, Toby Stephens (Black Sails, 13 Hours) as John Robinson, Max Jenkins (Sense 8) as Will Robinson, newcomer Mina Sundwall as Penny Robinson, Taylor Russell (Before I Fall) as Judy Robinson and indie-film princess Parker Posey as Dr. Smith.

See the mission go wrong on the fateful Friday the 13th, this April.
