Top of the Lake is returning for a new case with Jane Campion’s Top of the Lake: China Girl. Featuring the return of Elisabeth Moss as Detective Robin Griffin, this new season will focus on her return to Sydney and her attempts to rebuild her life after the events of the first season. She’ll also be solving the murder of an Asian girl whose body washes up on the shore of Bondi Beach. It’s probably safe to assume that things just get worse from there.
Moss, who is currently squarely in the limelight by virtue of her Handmaid’s Tale performance, will be joined by Gwendoline Christie, Nicole Kidman, David Dencik, Alice Englert and Ewen Leslie. The six-part mini-series will premiere at Cannes Film Festival later this month and premiere on SundanceTV in September. You say you don’t have SundanceTV? Well, no matter—each episode will be available to stream on Hulu the day after they air.
